It's Show~Time!
Performing Arts Studio

Teaching Staff:

Director: Wendy Erickson
Wendy has taught Sunshine Generation for over 8 years. Now she brings her vast experience with music and children to directing the business at "Show~Time" studio.
For the Fall 2009 Season Wendy will be teaching beginning piano as Brenton's extra curricular life makes piano lesson scheduling difficult. He will teach piano when his schedule permits, but Wendy will be the main piano teacher this session providing lesson days and times you can plan on.
Wendy is so excited to be teaching "Voice Performance" classes. This will give her a chance to combine all of her experience into helping your child discover their "inner STAR quality" and find joy in their talents while they learn to "Entertain"

Teacher: Brenton Erickson
Brenton has been playing and enjoying the piano for over 5 years now. He has often been called on to accompany others in church, school and in his theatrical endeavors.
Brenton has been singing and performing in Musical Theater since the age of 9. We are fortunate to have his theatrical "know-how" as he advises our Voice Performance teacher and as he produces and directs our recitals.

Teacher: Alise Erickson
Alise is a very gifted dancer and choreographer. She has performed many dance and voice solos in her young career. She has been dancing for 10 years and choreographing for 4 of those years. She choreographed our most applauded numbers in Sunshine Generation. You will love to see your children grow in their dance ability and confidence under her skillful guidance.

Teacher: Ben Armstrong
Ben is a talented musician. He plays piano, trombone, clarinet and bass clarinet. He has been a vital member of his school and community band groups for 7 years. He loves working with children and really knows how to boost their self esteem. Band students will not only enjoy their classes with Ben , they will excel in their talents also.

Class Descriptions, Schedules and Fees
Dance Combo (DC)
Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced
Miss Alise will call and schedule you for your "assessment" time once you register for her class. (She will teach you some basic skills, have you demonstrate and then she can decide where your current dance level is and place you in the appropriate class)
Dance Combo Classes will be 45 minutes long and be held on Saturday Mornings
Beg DC 9:00 am, Int. DC 9:45 am Adv. DC 10:30 am
Children must be 7 years old or older to register for the Dance Combo classes.
Fee - $25.00/mo. This includes 4 classes a month.

Beginning Piano
We teach mostly from the "Alfred" curriculum. On your 1st lesson a slip will be sent home listing the book(s) you will need to purchase and where you can purchase them.
Beginning Piano lessons will be 30 minutes long and will be held on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Class times will begin at 3pm on Thursday afternoons and begin at 9am on Saturday mornings. Children must be able to read and write to register for these classes. Fee - $25.00/mo. This includes 4 lessons a month.

Voice Performance
Children will love realizing their dream performing like their favorite Disney or Pop star or even sing a well loved spiritual for family and friends. Voice Performance students will have 30 minutes of one on one with Miss Wendy each week. During this time they will learn proper breathing technique, diction, voice and facial expression, how to perform with a microphone and basic music theory. Students, (who do not play the piano), will be taught how to read music enough to play the melody line, of songs they would like to sing. After the 1st few lessons songs will be selected to prepare for performance at our recital. Voice Performance lessons will be 30 minutes long and will be held on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Class times will begin at 3pm on Thursday afternoons and begin at 9am on Saturday mornings. Children 4 years of age or older may register for these classes. Fee - $25.00/mo. This includes 4 lessons a month.

Clarinet, Bass Clarinet or Trombone Lessons
These lesson times are pending on how many students are interested in this class.
If you have an interest in these band instrument lessons contact us at 602-579-5570 and Ben will schedule these classes as soon as there are enough students.

Recitals
At Show~Time, we feel the best part is having the chance to "show off" all of your hard work! We will have a recital where students can perform what they have prepared twice a year. Our recitals will be in November and April each year.

Call Miss Wendy 602-579-5570 or email fredny1@msn.com to verify class times you want are available.

Class fees are due the 1st class of each month. If fees are not paid at the 1st class of the month there is a $5.00 late fee you will owe in addition. Student may not attend 2nd class of the month if fees are not paid by that day for the month. We will give you a receipt as well as keep our own records for all payments received. If for any reason we cannot fulfill our commitment to you we will refund moneys for classes not taught.

Please call Miss Wendy @ 602-579-5570 or email her frendy1@msn.com to hold your spot in our classes. Also please email Miss Wendy to request a class registration form and a liability form and bring it to class on your 1st day.
Thank you,
Wendy Erickson

Teaching Supplies & File Cabinet Give Away

I have gone through my garage and I am getting rid of most of my old teaching stuff. If there is a teacher that would be interested in any of the files, books, decorations, borders, etc. I mostly have math stuff, but even though I taught middle school and high school, there is some elementary stuff too. I inherited some of it from my mom when she retired, and she has taught 1st-5th grade, so there may be stuff for those younger grades too, or for someone to use at home as extras!

You are welcome to drop by and take anything you want. Also, once the 3 file cabinets are empty, these are up for grabs also. I am also going to offer this to the teachers at Harmon if I don't have enough takers. I hate to throw out all of the papers, but I am very tired of the space they take up! The file cabinets have two drawers (so the short kind) and are metal (grayish in color). If someone wants just the file cabinet, I might be able to empty one of them, but I don't want all the papers/files sitting loose in my garage, or it will be a huge mess in a matter of days! Contact information: Cassie Schupp, 882-2669, 747 E Heather Drive, cschupp523@yahoo.com. Feel free to drop by without calling, if I'm here, you can go through it anytime! If I'm gone, but my sister is here, feel free to ask her to open the garage to let you dig!

Thanks so much!!!

Cassie

Home For Rent

We have a home in Gilbert that needs a great family to occupy it! It's located off Cooper/Guadalupe, close to I-60. Our current renters will be leaving the state at the end of May, so our home will be available June 1. Just a little about the house: it was built in 1997, it's about 2500 sq ft, 2 stories, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. It has been updated with new carpet, tile, and window blinds, the neighborhood is quiet, nice homes, and I understand that the ward is really great (we currently have an LDS family living there). The rent is $1300/month. No pool, no fireplace, and definitely NO PETS (we would like to keep the home nice)! If you have friends or family who are looking to rent a really nice home, please let them know about ours. Thank you.

Vote for New Board Member!

The Pecan Creek Community Association is holding an election for board members. You should have received a ballot in the mail. And there is still time to vote! IF you send your ballot in the mail by this Thursday. Otherwise you are welcome to bring your ballot in the sealed yellow envelope to either meeting on April 9th at Jack Harmon at 6:30 or it can be dropped off at Jodi Lewis's house and she will make sure it gets turned in.

We need everyone possible to vote so that we don't have to waste time and money on a second election if there are not enough ballots turned in the first time!

Thank you!

Loan Modification Services

A message from Chrys Meadows:

These are tough economic times and I know that many of us are really hurting right now - some have lost jobs, some have decreased working hours, many of us are self-employed and are watching our business dwindle, and some are on the verge of losing their homes to foreclosure/short sales.

I'm an agent for a loan modification company that enjoys a very good track record in negotiating modifications of terms, interest rate, and/or principal reduction. We have proven professionals, including in-house attorneys, who have successfully modified every type of loan with every type of lender. We offer a "No Loan Modification - No Fee Guarantee." Yes, a homeowner can try to negotiate a modification with their bank or mortgage company themselves, but the going is tough, time-consuming, and too often unsuccessful.

If you or a family member or friend are in foreclosure, short sale, at risk for imminent default, or have too many expenses left after the income has been spent, we can help. E-mail or call for a free pre-qualification, no obligation consultation. chrysmeadows@cox.net or 480 882-3870.

Massages

My daughter, Jessica Kucenski, is a certified Massage Therapist and is looking for some clients that want massages on the weekends.

She is available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. She is doing them out of her home located in Laredo Ranch or she could come to your house.
Her phone number is 480-882-2969 or her email address is jesscab18@msn.com.

She can do 1 hour or 1/2 hour time slots. She is very good! She has helped alleviate my arthritis pain! Her rate is $40 per hour or $20 per 1/2 hour. She can make adjustments to the price if necessary. If you are looking for someone or know of someone who wants or needs a massage, please give Jessica a call.

You can call me at 480-329-7327 if you have any questions. Thank you very much.
Jennifer McLaurin
